Australia Day memories...

We've also created a similar one to the Aussie Day Barbie but it is Aussie Day Award as one of our girls at the Barn was honoured with an Aussie Day Award for her community work with a local theatre group. Congratulations Jenni & well done! (Don't be embarassed - you deserved it!)

It was suggested that some of the Laser Cuts could have a few colours cut in the Top Deck so that different sections could be different colours!

Australia Day Laser cuts can be seen here.

As a response to requests, I have completed some Aussie Day Laser Cuts.

Some more Layouts to see

Check out how small we can cut on this laser machine. We are having so much fun trying new things on the laser. In this layout Kathy has used the same cardstock in her top deck as she has used matting her photo. The scroll she used was the 12" Scroll Border. And the letters? Well that was something we were Just playing with.

Have you checked out our range of You Decide Alphas??
Here at Remember When Scrapbooking we think you should
be able to choose the letters you need.
In the Tulip farm layout above Kathy has used Font 3 of our You Decide Alphas range called.
This is a very tall and slender alpha that means you can get alot in a small space. They are similar to the Chatterbox Jumbo Letter stickers.
She has used the base sheet for the Alphas and the Flower Corner then cut top decks out of the same coloured cardstock to match.

You are Beautiful!

Well it's past midnight and here I am yet again... at the computer in the Barn. While the rest of the family is snoring I am still here totally addicted to this laser cut creation thing... I was tossing and turning last night trying to get to sleep and I thought of this new item, would you believe at 3am!!!! and it wasn't until late tonight I actually got a chance to create it - and I love it ! It will be available for purchase tomorrow - or should I say later today - probably around lunctime.
It reminds me of a song by Christine Aguilera that I just love listening to and moreso watching the video clip to. It is simply called "Beautiful" - the lyric goes - "You are beautiful no matter what they say!" The song and video brings me to tears so often when I hear it... it's a very powerful statement she delivers through her lyrics and video and one that young people, and older people for that matter need to listen to a little more often I feel.

Anyway, off my soapbox. I've been reading all the feedback we've got through our survey so far and yes I did muck up a couple of the questions when relating back to earlier questions (that's what I get for "fiddling" with it before I sent it thinking I was just tweaking it a bit - but lucky you are all smart enough to figure out my blunders!! :)
I have loved reading your feedback and we'll be collating it all in about a weeks time and really seeing the important messages we want to hear from you. We'll share some of the relevant statistics with you too! It really is important to us to know what you think. My daughter Jane (who is now 19 and on holidays from Uni) has been packing some orders this week and she also collects the mail for me most days and I always find that the feedback forms you guys send back are always opened by her before I get to them. She said to me today that she loves packing the orders "really well" because she loves to read the positive messages of appreciation from you when her name is on the form!!

Some exciting news for us is that we've had word today that a project we were planning on producing in Kit Form for you all very soon was so highly thought of by Bazzill themselves that they hope to recreate it and use it in their display at CHA (One of 3 Trade Show releases in the USA where the new products are unveiled) in Anaheim later this month! How cool is that??? Can't wait to share it with you all. It will be perfect for a Mother's Day project too!

GETAWAY NEWS
As alot of you know we have been holding 3 fundraising weekends a year here in Victoria where we dedicate ourselves to raising money to Very Special Kids (www.vsk.org.au), an amazing charity that supports the families with children who have life threatening conditions. In 2006 we managed to help raise nearly $14,000.00. Well I've been receiving emails from people asking when the 2007 dates will be released. I apologise for the delay in doing this. Life here has just been overwhelming and there have been a few changes with the pricing from the Retreat we use to to get my head around. The end result is that we have booked the long weekends in March, June (both 3 nights) and the 4 night weekend over the Melbourne Cup Day weekend - finishing on the Tuesday. Well I feel we will struggle to make our minimum booking requirement of 30 people for March at such late notice, so unless we can do this with firm bookings fairly soon we might cancel the March one and opt to have just June and November. If you would like to book please email us at getaway@rememberwhen.com.au and let us know and as soon as we know if it's going ahead we'll let you know. Once deposits have been made there will be a cancellation fee now applicable to withdrawals. We apologise for this but due to so many of late, it ends up causing a situation for our booking with the retreat.

YOU are the meaning of LOVE!

This is one of our new products that have hit our website this week. These "Layout Kits" were inspired when a customer (Brenda) asked about creating "windows" in a certain design of 64 squares. Well we made that design as well as three others and you can see them here, but as with most things being created on our laser one product idea leads onto a myriad of others. I'm sure I must be talking 'laser talk' in my sleep as I know I sure am dreaming about different ideas and concepts!! Anyway, getting back to the Layout Kits. They have been designed for a quick layout but with the anticipation of individual styles being incorporated into them. Sure you could just add a photo or three or some journalling in the smaller squares but I am looking forward to seeing different interpretations of how they could be used. The words YOU and LOVE are Chipboard pieces plus Top Decks and the other words are laser cut into the piece of Parakeet Bazzill. If you would like this in other colours just let me know by emailing me HERE. Please also share you end results of any of the RW Laser Cuts products - I'd love to see them and maybe share them if that's okay. If you just want to share them with me that's okay too - just say so!

Other things we've added to the website this week so far are "YOU DECIDE ALPHAS". We've all bought packs of alphabets that we love to death but at the end of the day there just aren't enough of some letters and way too many (like they shouldn't be included in the alphabet!! ) of other letters... Well we've come up with a system where you can decide how many of every letter you want to keep on hand PLUS the beauty of our system is then that if you want TOP DECKS in your favourite Bazzill colour or printed paper you can order them anytime you like!

This one is my current favourite - the vowels are lower cased and italicised but still the same size as the constonants.

Remember with the RW Laser Cuts, that BASE SHEET means the chipboard piece and TOP DECK means the Bazzill or paper that can be cut to go on top.

We have a couple of new frames to suit 6" x 4" photos - these are really cute and come with extra flowers for embellishments. You can see those HERE

Any for Hockey?? After a special request, this set was put together.... if you have a special request don't be afraid to ask. I'm always looking for other peoples' ideas and designs to go into our range... So if you think you could have a go at designing something email me...

Weddings are always celebrated through our albums so here is the first set of Wedding items... again, another special request!

How would you like...

...to be able to get any word cut out in your favourite Bazzill colour?? Well with the introduction of our first alphabet, you now can!

Our concept is that you can buy a full set of Alphas in various sizes in chipboard and then you can order the letters or words you want to match at different times in your preferred Bazzill colour. How cool is that???

Our first font is:
"RW Formal Font 1" and is available in 3 sizes...

A Year in Review...

This original concept for this design was created by my good friend Lyn and these photos are of her well photographed daughter Kiana. Rach has put this together for us. The project is cut out in our Acid Free chipboard in 2 layers so that you have great dimension to the finished product.
You can start off in any month and do the 12months from there and you could cover many subjects as an additional title you recieve with this is "A Year in Review".
The project shown has used a set of 3 monochromatic toned pink Bazzill cardstock sheets and you can order the sheets of your choice to be cut also. The finished project can then be displayed with pride in a Shadow Box Layout Frame.

Our new Laser Cuts!

Yes RW has taken what I consider to be a natural step in continuing to be Australia's Bazzill Specialist. We have purchased a very expensive piece of equipment, namely a Laser Machine so we can provide our customers with laser cuts that will be unique to RW, in any colour of Bazzill whatsovever! How cool is that???

I had a few friends over on the weekend for a few days 'roadtesting' some product previews and the layouts that follow are some of the results. They were very excited by what could be created....

Firstly, by Pam McLure.... (see what Pam thought of these here at her blog)

In another great step, in the next few weeks, we'll be able to provide not only these TOP DECK laser cuts with acid free double sided adhesive on them, but we'll also be able to provide any sheet of Bazzill with an adhesive backing on it!

We are going to be branching out into so many design areas and would love to hear from any scrapbookers or cardmakers who have some ideas on what would be great products for you and your friends. If you have any suggestions for designs or would like to be one of our designers of these products, please contact me at website@rememberwhen.com.au. You will need to have confidence with computer programs and show a talent for designing unique ideas for scrapbookers and also cardmakers. Once you email me I will let you know what criteria will need to be filled.
