Don't forget the animals!
We had a sad day today - one of our (3) rabbits died after succumbing to what appeared to be initially a bad cold... I was holding him at the time and felt his little heart stop. It was very sad but very comforting also because I was holding him at the time and also he was very uncomfortable and we think in pain. He had been receiving antibiotic injections since Saturday but I think we left it too late to take him to the vet.... of course Soph took it the hardest as it was one of her rabbits that she received for her birthday last October but after burying him at her Nana's place up the road when Dad got home she had lots of questions about heaven etc plus one question - do we have a photo of Shadow?? You know what - I was very embarassed & disappointed to have to say No... It would have been wonderful for Soph to be able to look back at a page at some stage and remember Shadow but I just didn't think of it as we have so many pets here... so my point is Don't forget to take photos of your animals - because we don't know how long we have them and after they've gone it's too late.... I have learnt my lesson and will take lots of photos of our pets from now on especially when they are interacting with the family. We have 2 other rabbits, Midnight (Shadows' brother) and Snuggles, along with two guinea pigs, Sidney and Cocoa... we also have a character of a cat called Romeo (you can't help but do the whole Shakespeare line when calling him LOL) and just recently Soph was given a Pony called Marbles, which is looked after by a close friend on her property who is also teaching her to ride... (most little girls' dream come true!).
On another note the same close friend who is teaching Soph to ride has had a tough week last week when she was forced to take her beautiful Border Collie to the RSPCA in Burwood (VIC). She passed her RSPCA rehousing tests with flying colours has been given 28 days to be rehoused before that other horrible option, so any help you can give in finding her a home would be sincerely appreciated... You can see her listed on the RSPCA site HERE.. Her name is Delta and is the 7th dog down (well today she is that far down the page)... Please help if you can..
